January 20, 2011 – Ray and I escaped from the rigors of the Mozes company snowboarding trip in Lake Tahoe, CA, and decided to brave to brave the snow and sub 30 degree weather all for the sake of night photography. Really wish I brought my gloves that night.

I first saw this skit on the tele when Jimmy Fallon performed it in Vancouver during the Winter Olympics. I nearly switched the channel because I have limited interest in Neil Young. But then I listened on… what a classic song.

Benjamin Button was great. I also enjoyed it 15 years ago when they called it Forrest Gump. From Talkshow with Spike Feresten.

While playing a volleyball tournament in New York, overhead five jets flew over running an advertisement for the intrepid. “opens nov 8″. Not exactly sure what this ad was trying to say, but needless to say it caught my attention and was very intriguing.

Just when you thought sea otters couldn’t be topped, there comes 6 year old, Connie Talbot on Britain’s Got Talent…

If there’s any song out there that’s perfect to be sung in solitude, and especially by a little girl, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” would be it. Dude, I hate to admit it, but everytime I watch this clip, I well up just a little bit. I wonder if they knocked her front teeth out just for the effect. haha. But seriously, seeing Simon’s face with so much attentiveness for this little girl has gotta mean something.

I’d like to see just how far she’ll get on this show. Heck, I’d like to see her perform in front of the queen whether she wins or loses!

Lifehack to Save on Big Purchases

Just read this article on lifehacker.com which can apply to all of us who want to save an extra few cents on that next big purchase we want… like that new tv. Next time you’re at some retail store, try this trick out:

It boils down to being a good negotiator, though the tactics seem somewhat shady (but I’m a total wimp in the negotiation room, so you may feel otherwise). You indicate that you’re interested in buying a big fat warranty, then ask the sales assistant to lower the item’s price. Since big box electronics stores are often pushed to sell warranties, they’ll be willing to budge on the price of your item – especially if it’s got a big price tag. Then when checkout time comes, you have a change of heart on the warranty. Simple enough.

It may not work if your salesperson was also the same person at the register, but I wish I thought about this last time I went to Fry’s Electronics! Brilliant!
